Our culinary compass at Matt & Elly is nature. We only serve seasonal creations with a strong focus on local quality products from sustainable producers. Jarin Huber’s – our chef and co-owner – roots lay in the Basel countryside where he grew up to a mostly vegetarian cuisine. His mother used to make homemade meals from scratch using only the best ingredients the region had to offer. That included meat or fish from sustainable farming occasionally. Matt & Elly’s cuisine reflects Jarin’s deep connections to his roots as well as the influence from different cuisines around the world he has experienced while travelling. With his background and our multicultural team of chefs at Matt & Elly, you can expect creative new culinary creations every three weeks. With 60 seats in the restaurant and 30 seats in the bar and brewery, we offer you fine-dining creations for dinner and tapas for aperitifs. In summer in the urban beer garden with the same number of seats. You can book a brewery tour with beer tasting before dinner or as a single event.

Opening hours

During Art Basel week form 11 – 15 June our kitchen is open until late (tapas until 23:00, à la carte until 22:30).
